Submissions open

January 14th, 2008 Posted in fest, news, update

After only a few days the submissions have started to flow in. There is an interesting mix of narrative and docs from various parts of the globe. Later today the first of the submission videos will go live on FHTA. The submission videos are meant to capture the spirit of the project and to leave the viewer wanting more. For more detailed info on how to prep your video check out the submission guidelines.

A number of blogs have been picking up the call for submissions. Big thanks to Filmmaker, Self-Reliant, KinetoFilm, and Microcinema Scene, Shooting People and DIY filmmaker.

Arin and myself did an interview with NewTeeVee on Friday and the story should go live sometime this week. We covered a wide range of topics during the hour long phone conversation. Were going to attempt to document as much of the process as we can. This is an experiment and we welcome your thoughts, comments and suggestions. If you’d like to suggest a film, panelist or speaker please send an email to info [@] fromheretoawesome.com If you left a comment in the last week or so we might of missed it when we swapped servers so please drop us an email.

We’ve established a twitter stream for FHTA that will include filmmakers, audience and FHTA staff - http://twitter.com/FHTA And in an effort to help promote discovery we are working on a festival stream that will include discussion, audience based music / movie recommendations and social bookmarks.

Til next time
